Hot hot hot

Bloody hot today - over 40°c today. Early morning visit to Lahav Reserve was effective but rather slow. Managed to confirm breeding of all species I needed - Long-billed Pipit, Stretch-marks Bunting, Eastern Black-eared Wheatear and Blue Rock Thrush. But small numbers of each and nothing cooperative. Spectacled Warblers are busy now feeding chicks from their second breeding cycle - this is a very worn female:


Some migrants around - Steppe and Honey Buzzards, and lots of White Storks:


This inquisitive Short-toed Eagle was too close:
